Spraker Wealth Management, Inc. (SWM) was founded in February of 2008 when Susan S. Spraker and her clients left the Maitland firm she co-founded with two other financial advisors 10 years earlier. The mission of the new firm was to offer high-touch, flexible, fee-only, active portfolio management.
Founded literally in the middle of the Great Recession, the new company transition was seamless with Susan keeping client portfolios on the high-service Schwab Advisory platform and clients authorizing Spraker Wealth Management, Inc. as the Advisory firm.
Before leaving her prior firm and before the stock crash, Susan was systematically selling stock in her client portfolios, reaching 50% or more in cash well before the bottom. This management decision was based on macroeconomic research and study, just as it was when she made the same investment decision the Fall of 1999 before the tech bubble burst.
In March 2009, Susan called a bottom and began investing her clients’ portfolios back into stock funds. This active portfolio management approach, based on macro analysis and client risk tolerance sensitivity, is
the foundation of and reason for the success of Spraker Wealth Management.
The SWM Team is comprised of five full-time professionals, including a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) as well as two CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) Advisors for every client. The culture of macroeconomic research to keep abreast of the ever changing investment landscape continues to mature.
The philosophy, together with the extraordinary personal service delivered by the entire SWM Team, the practice of ongoing counseling with clients to understand their personal and financial goals, and a solid history of giving back to the community in time, talent and treasure, goes to the heart of this unusual, female-founded, female-owned wealth management firm.
